You can Help, too

EDUCATION

BLS Foundation envisions a country where each child irrespective of background, has the opportunity to:

  • A quality education

  • Be the best version of themselves.

Through our partnerships with schools & after-school centers like Gov. Senior Secondary School (Lajpat Nagar), & Gur Aasra (Chandigarh)- we regularly help sponsor education & living expenses for over 50 less fortunate children a year. Some beneficiaries of our program have gone on to study at leading universities across India before becoming productive employees at different corporates & government organizations.

HEALTHCARE

BLS Foundation is committed to helping those who lack access to basic healthcare. In the past, we've tied up with local blood banks/clinics to set up Free Health Checkups, Blood Donation camps, & Mobile Vans in various districts of Delhi & Chandigarh.

Our board & trustees have also helped set up dispensary clinics run by Gurudwara committees in the US & India. From time to time, we sponsor elective surgery expenditures of underprivileged children & senior citizens.

SOUP KITCHENS (LANGAR)

BLS Foundation cares for every member of the community, no matter what their background or situation may be. Our Soup Kitchen (Langar) program involves a passionate group of volunteers coming together & providing hunger relief to those who need it most. We run langars every quarter at locations like PGI Chandigarh, Bangla Sahib Delhi, & Sector 36C, etc.

BLS

ELDERLY/ DISABILITY EMPOWERMENT

BLS Foundation is committed to helping the disabled- one of the most marginalized groups in the world, by promoting:

  • Inclusion

  • Equality

Sadly, people with mental & physical impairments are often deprived of basic rights & opportunities to lead normal lives (by society). We want to change such mindsets & strictly believe every member of society (irrespective of disability) is special.

Through donation grants/in-kind, volunteering, & partnerships with organizations working at the forefront like Delhi Cheshire Home, Institute of the Blind-Chandigarh, & Pingalwara Society- we aim to overcome these obstacles.

BLS Migrants Covid-19.jpg

COVID-19 RELIEF

The COVID-19 pandemic & lockdowns brought life to a standstill-globally. India was no exception. Since the national lockdown in March, no one has suffered as much as daily wage migrant workers- who were suddenly left with no livelihoods & forced to walk 1000s of miles back to their villages.

Many ended up losing their lives through dehydration & accidents during that harrowing time. With the support of various partners, BLS Foundation volunteers were immediately dispatched to help serve the needs of this community in Delhi's Kashmere Gate & Chandigarh: with 500+ meal kits, water bottles, masks, essentials, & in some areas private buses to different states.

Since March 2020, we have tried to play a small & humble part towards flattening the overall case curve. This includes distribution of masks, PPE, & hand sanitizers in crowded Delhi markets & at the Singhu border (during the Kisan protests), etc.

Learn more about our initiatives for the community & see how you can help make them even more impactful.
